Hip-hop from Ghana promoting free-trade cocoa beans ...

There's some sweet hip-hop dancing that starts about half-way through this video from Cadbury and Glass and a Half Full Records promoting the chocolate maker's use of fair trade cocoa beans from Ghana.

Song is "Zingolo" featuring Tinny and all proceeds on iTunes goes to CARE, which funds education in Ghana's cocoa-growing community (according to AdAge Creativity).

3 for the price of 4 (a bit of a rant) ...

I'm usually not one to go off on a rant, but consider this a strong suggestion to the ticket and concert industries.

Like most people, I don't mind paying a fair price for a show. And I think everyone deserves to make their fair share and get adequately compensated for their contributions, whether it be for their creative work or for taking the financial risk in putting on a show.

But, as this receipt shows, the breakdown of "fees" and "charges" is absurb.

We bought three tickets to Flight of the Conchords with a face value of $37 each. When all the "fees" and "charges" were applied, we had essentially bought a fourth ticket ~ and told them to keep the $1.05 change.

The show was clearly worth the almost $50 per ticket that we really paid.

Maybe give this a try: Just charge me $50 and keep your "fees" and "charges" to yourselves. I still will feel good about my entertainment investment ~ and I might even think and speak more highly of the ticket and concert industries!

Just saying.

Flight of the Conchords ...

Flight of the Conchords played Boston University's Agannis Arena on Friday night.

Jemaine gave the Hub a couple of nicknames: "Boston Space" (as in "Lost in Space") and "Boston Powers" (as in "Austin Powers"). Brett said he'd have to wait and get to know Boston a little better before he could find a suitable pet name.

Opening was Kristen Schaal, who was hilarious (seen here playing a mattress).

Also opening was Eugene Mirman, who had some extremely witty and insightful observations (no spoiler here ... go see his act).
